Posted by Margie Mulder That fabulous age-old recipe from Grandma's Father, the Baker, now in this easy to read and easier to make format. Don't mistake this easy one for a no brainer. Be sure to cream when directed. It's the key to a great cake.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter(not margarine)
- 1 stick margarine(not butter)
- - cream the above. gradually add:
- 1 cup white sugar
- - cream well. then add:
- 1 - whole egg.
- - mix well. then add:
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- - mix and add:
- 2 cups flour
How To Make mom/grandma's almond tea cake

Step 1Pour in greased and floured 9" inch round cake pan. Smooth the top with damp fingers. Brush top with egg white and pour off excess when done. Sprinkle with sliced almonds if desired.

Step 2Bake 10 min. in preheated 400 degree oven. Then reduce over to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 25 min.
