So I decided to invite some friends over for dinner and decided to bake this yellow cake and wow! I was pleasantly surprised. I got this recipe out of a magazine and didn't think it would yield the results I received. My friends not only had it for dessert but took some home. This is a picture I manage to snap right before it was completely demolished. Now everybody wants the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups buttermilk

How To Make moist yellow cake

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease three 9-inch round cake pans with butter. Sift together the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  • Step 2
Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, allowing each egg to blend into the butter mixture before adding the next. Beat in the vanilla with the last egg. Pour in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk, mixing until just incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
  • Step 3
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes (mines was ready at 35 minutes). Cool completely before frosting.
