I was cracking black walnuts one day on the asphalt in our driveway when my husband pulled up and said "How's my little nutcracker?". I soon went inside and came up with this cake for him.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 4 - eggs
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups black walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 pound confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make moe's nutcracker cake

Step 1Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.

Step 2Add cream cheese and sour cream.

Step 3Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 4Slowly add flour mixture to batter. Add vanilla and mix well. After well incorporated, add finely chopped black walnuts.

Step 5Pour into tube pan and bake at 335 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool and remove from pan.

Step 6Mix confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla. May have to adjust milk depending on thickness desired. Pour over cooled cake.
