1/2 c
plus 2 tablespoons cocoa
sticks of butter
2 tsp
vanilla extract, divided
1 1/2 c
1 c
coconut, flaked
1 1/2 c
chopped walnuts
(7 oz) jar marshmallow creme
16 oz
powdered sugar
1/2 c
evaporated milk

How to Make Mississippi Mud Cake


  • 1Cream the sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, 2 sticks butter, eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix Well.
  • 2Add flour, coconut and nuts. Beat for two minutes.
  • 3Bake in a greased and floured 9 by 13-inch pan at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes.
  • 4When cake is done and still hot, spread the marshmallow creme over the entire top of the cake. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  • 5When cake is cool, mix powdered sugar and 1/2 cup cocoa. Cream 1 stick of butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar mixture. Beat Well. Add milk and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread on cake.
