How To Make mint malted cake with mint butter frosting
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
-
Step 2Coat two 8-inch round cake pans with cooking spray. Add 1 cup crushed chocolate malted balls and 1 cup dark and mint chocolate chips into each cake pan.
-
Step 3In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, eggs, malted milk powder, and mint chocolate syrup. Beat well with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds.
-
Step 4Beat on medium speed for 3 minutes. Pour the cake batter into the cake pans evenly. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Step 5Remove from the oven and cool the cakes in pans on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove the cakes from pans and cool completely on a wire rack.
-
Step 6In a medium bowl, add butter, cane sugar, and mint extract; whisk for 2 minutes until blended. Mix in whipped topping, heavy cream, and cream cheese; whisk again for 5 minutes or until combined.
-
Step 7Place the bottom cake layer on the serving plate. Spread the frosting onto the cake about 1/8-inch thick. Add miniature York Peppermint Patties and 1 cup dark and mint chocolate chips.
-
Step 8Place the top cake layer on top. Spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides of the cake. Sprinkle with the remaining dark and mint chocolate chips on top.
