I got this recipe from my cousin, and it has been an instant success among family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 8 - milky way candy bars
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 - eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1\2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ICING
  • 3 - milky way candy bars
  • l stick butter
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar

How To Make milky way cake

  • Step 1
    Melt the 8 Milky Way candy bars w/1 stick of butter on the stove at medium heat until melted.
  • Step 2
    Cream sugar w/1 stick of butter (softened) with an electric mixer. Cream together. Add the 4 eggs (one egg at a time) mixing well after each egg. Slow mix in the flour, and baking soda alternate w/the buttermilk and add the vanilla. Mix well, scraping the sides of bowl.
  • Step 3
    Fold in the milky way mixture, gently stir into the batter. Pour into a well greased 9 x 12 inch baking pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Cool completely before icing.
  • Step 4
    ICING: Melt the 3 milky way candy bars w/1 stick of butter on the stove at medium heat until melter. Add the 2 tsp. of milk and mix w/an electric mixer until smooth. Slowly add in the powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Then icing the cake.
  • Step 5
    NOTE: We have also made this cake w/snicker's candy bars and it was awesome!
