Michiana Cherry Cake

Kathie Carr

This is a favorite local recipe made when the tart cherries are ripe in early summer. Everyone seems to love it.

I remember this recipe from as far back as the 1970's. The cake is easy to make. Also, its really different than anything else in my recipe collection and I hope you like it, too.

I hope to get enough cherries to make this Saturday and post a picture of it.

Michiana is short for Michigan-Indiana and refers to the Southern Michigan- Northern Indiana area.
