This recipe is from my cousin Melissa. She is a great cook, and I always request this cake at family events!

10x powdered confectioners sugar
6 Tbsp
butter (softened)

cream cheese
2 Tbsp

How to Make Melissa's Cream Cheese Poundcake


  • 1Cake:
    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • 2Combine butter and cream cheese, blend well.
  • 3Add sugar slowly and mix for 6 minutes.
  • 4Add eggs one at a time.
  • 5Add flour, mix slowly while adding.
  • 6Add vanilla.
  • 7Pour into greased bunt pan and cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • 8Icing:
    Cream butter and cream cheese together.
  • 9Add powdered sugar and amaretto (or substitute 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. almond extract).
  • 10Optional-top with slivered almonds.
