This recipe is from my cousin Melissa. She is a great cook, and I always request this cake at family events!

  • 3 stick
    butter (softened)
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese (softened)
  • 3 c
  • 6
  • 3 c
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • ICING:

  • 1 box
    10x powdered confectioners sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter (softened)
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp

How to Make Melissa's Cream Cheese Poundcake


  1. Cake:
    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Combine butter and cream cheese, blend well.
  3. Add sugar slowly and mix for 6 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time.
  5. Add flour, mix slowly while adding.
  6. Add vanilla.
  7. Pour into greased bunt pan and cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  8. Icing:
    Cream butter and cream cheese together.
  9. Add powdered sugar and amaretto (or substitute 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. almond extract).
  10. Optional-top with slivered almonds.
