I found this in Good Housekeeping Magazine in the 70's. It's been a favorite in my family since then. It's always a hit with company.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup softened margarine (2 sticks)
- 3 cups cake flour - not self rising.
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 - eggs
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- - confectioners sugar for dusting
- 1 cup milk
How To Make marble cake

Step 1At low speed beat sugar and margarine until blended. Increase to high speed, beat until light and fluffy - about 10 minutes.

Step 2Reduce speed to low, add flour, milk, baking powder,vanilla, salt and eggs. Beat until well mixed. Increase to high speed mix 2 minutes more.

Step 3Measure cocoa and mix into 1 cup of batter plus 1 tb water. Mix well

Step 4Spoon half the batter into round tube pan. Spoon cocoa mix on top of batter. Spoon rest of the cake batter on top of the cocoa. Swirl knife through the cake batter to marbleize.

Step 5Bake 50-55 minutes, cool in pan on rack. Sprinkle top with confectioners sugar when cool.
