How To Make maple walnut pound cake

  • 1
Cream butter and sugars until fluffly.
  • 2
In a seperate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
  • 3
In a measuring cup, combine milk and maple flavoring and beat into butter mixture, alternating with flour mixture.
  • 4
Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix in 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts.
  • 5
Pour batter into a greased tube pan. Bake at 300 on lower 3rd rack position for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 mins. or until toothpick test comes out clean.
  • 6
Cool cake in pan for 15 mins. then turn onto rack or platter. Make maple glaze by sifting powder sugar and stirring in milk and maple flavoring. I like a thicker glaze so I usually don't add too much more milk. Pour glaze over cake and garnish with nuts.
