This is a third-generation recipe. The best, moistest, pound cake you'll ever eat. Try toasting a slice with butter; you'll think you're in Heaven! This cake also freezes well (if you have any left over).

- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make mamaw's sour cream pound cake

Step 1Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

Step 2Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. Add to batter, alternating with sour cream.

Step 3Bake @ 350 for approximately 1 hour, maybe a little longer.
