This is a third-generation recipe. The best, moistest, pound cake you'll ever eat. Try toasting a slice with butter; you'll think you're in Heaven! This cake also freezes well (if you have any left over).

Ingredients

  • 2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 6 large
    eggs
  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 8 oz
    sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Mamaw's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. Add to batter, alternating with sour cream.
  3. Bake @ 350 for approximately 1 hour, maybe a little longer.
