I forgot where I got this recipe but who doesn't love Malted Milk Balls? This recipe is a hit with young and old alike!

cocoa powder

baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
2/3 c
butter, softened
1 3/4 c

unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped

1 c
malted milk balls, coarsely chopped
recipe chocolate malt glaze
2/3 c
whipping cream
1/3 c
malted milk powder
1 1/2 oz
milk chocolate chips

How to Make Malted Milk Ball Cake


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 9x9x2 inch backing pans with parchment paper, grease pans. Set aside. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat butter with electric mixer on medium-high for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 30 seconds after each. Beat in chocolate and vanilla. Alternately add flour mixture and milk, beating on low after each addition until thoroughly combined. Divide batter between prepared pans; spread evenly. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Sprinkle with malted milk balls, pressing in slightly. Continue baking 10-15 minutes more - 25 minutes total baking time. Let cakes stand while preparing glaze. Spread warm cake with Chocolate Malt Glaze.

    In a medium microwave-safe bowl, whisk together whipping cream and malted milk powder. Microwave on 50% power for 2 minutes or until bubbly. Place chocolte pieces in another heat-proof bowl; pour hot whipping cream mixture over chocolate pieces. Let stand 5 minutes; stir until smooth.
