Macaroons and Brownies! They're sooo good I had to share the recipe!

Ingredients

  • BROWNIES
  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • MACAROON TOPPING
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1 cup coconut flakes

How To Make macaroon brownies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Step 2
    Prepare brownies according to package directions for cake-like brownies and add in 2 cups of chocolate chips for extra gooey, chocolatey goodness!
  • Step 3
    Bake 25 minutes or until set.
  • Step 4
    Place egg whites in medium bowl. Beat at high speed with electric mixer until foamy and double in volume. Beat in sugar gradually, beating until meringue forms firm peaks. Add almond extract. Fold in almonds and coconut. Spread over warm brownies.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 12 to 14 minutes longer or until meringue is set and lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
