Ingredients
- BROWNIES
- 1 box brownie mix
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- MACAROON TOPPING
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup almonds, chopped
- 1 cup coconut flakes
How To Make macaroon brownies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13 x 9-inch pan.

Step 2Prepare brownies according to package directions for cake-like brownies and add in 2 cups of chocolate chips for extra gooey, chocolatey goodness!

Step 3Bake 25 minutes or until set.

Step 4Place egg whites in medium bowl. Beat at high speed with electric mixer until foamy and double in volume. Beat in sugar gradually, beating until meringue forms firm peaks. Add almond extract. Fold in almonds and coconut. Spread over warm brownies.

Step 5Bake for 12 to 14 minutes longer or until meringue is set and lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
