I've been making this cake for many years and always get compliments on how moist it is.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup light sour cream, for frosting
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cup frozen cool whip, lite, thawed

How To Make lusciously moist chocolate cake

  • Step 1
    In lg bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking cocoa, baking soda, salt, 1 cup sour cream and egg. Beat w/ mixer until smooth. Heat oven to 350. Spray a 8"-square pan w/ cooking spray. Pour batter into pan. Bake 25 mins, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step 2
    In bowl, combine 1 cup sour cream, powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Fold in whipped topping.
  • Step 3
    When cake is cooled, frost w/ sour cream frosting.
