How to Make Louise's Cherry Torte
- Mix white cake mix according to package directions. Pour 1/2 of cake mixture into prepared torte pan. Bake according to package directions, cool and remove from pan. (I usually use the other half mix for cupcakes, unless I want 2 tortes, then I need to double the cream cheese ingredients and use an additional can of pie filling)..
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, almond extract and whipped whipping cream until smooth. Fill indented side of cooled torte with this mixture.
- Cover the cream cheese mixture with a can of cherry pie filling. Chill thoroughly and keep refrigerated.
