flour
1 1/2 c
sugar cinnamon (divided)
1 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1/2 c
vegetable oil
6
eggs, separated
3/4 c
water
1 tsp
grated lemon rind
2 tsp
lemon juice
1/2 tsp
cream of tartar

FLUFFY LEMON FROSTING

1/2 c
butter
4 c
powder sugar
2 tsp
lemon rind, grated
3 Tbsp
lemon juice
dash of salt

How to Make Lemon Golden Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1sift together flour, 1 c. sugarbak. powder and salt in a small bowl. Make a well in center, add oil, egg yolks. water, lemon rind& juice.beat@ high 5 min or till smooth~ beat egg whites and cream of tarter @ room temp; add remaining sugar2T @ a time, 4 min. to soft peak, slowly pour yolk mixture in steady stream over entire surface of mixture, fold together gently, pour into greased tube pan; bake at 350 for 1 hour, invert and cool.
  • 2(Frosting)Cream butter and sugar; add remaining ingd., beat till smooth. Spread over completely cooled cake
