I got this recipe from a church member a long time ago and it's still one of my favorite apple cakeas. It's layered w/ batter, apples more batter and more apples.

Ingredients
- 5 - granny smith apples
- 2 cups + 5 tbsp sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup egg beaters, egg substitute
- 1 cup applesauce
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 1-1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1-1/2 tablespoon water
How To Make layered apple cake

Step 1Heat oven to 350. Spray a 10" bundt pan w/ cooking spray. Dust w/ flour. Peel, core apples and slice thin. Place apples in a bowl. Combine in a small bowl, the 5 tbsp sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples, toss to coat.

Step 2In lg bowl, combine flours, 2 cups sugar, baking soda,and baking powder, whisk to blend. Add egg beaters, applesauce, vanilla and orange juice. W/ mixer, blend for 1 min on low. On high, blend for 3 mins.

Step 3Pour some batter into pan, then layer w/ some apple mix, then batter, then apples, end w/ batter. Bake 1 hr and 30 min, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool, invert onto plate. Make glaze: In bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, butter and water. Pour glaze over cake.
