This was 1 of my very first cakes I ever made on my own. I made a mess in the kitchen, my mom had a good laugh about it, but everybody liked it.

Ingredients

3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/4 cups milk
1 - egg

How To Make kit's shortcake...

Step 1

Heat oven to 400F. Lightly grease & sprinkle sugar to coat a 10x15 inch cake pan.

Step 2

In medium blow sift together the first 3 ingredients.
Step 3

In small blow mix the milk with egg very well.
Step 4

Add the butter to the dry ingredients & make sure to blend well.
Step 5

Then add in the milk mixture,lightly blend until all is moistened.
Step 6

Pour batter into cake pan & bake for 12 to 15 mins.
Step 7

Cool on wire rack. Frost as you wish.
