Ingredients
- 1 cup raisins
- 8 1/2 ounces pineapple, crushed
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 - eggs
- 1 cup blackberry jam, seedless
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- - confectioners' sugar

Step 1Soak raisins for several hours or overnight in the crushed pineapple.

Step 2Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

Step 3Cream shortening and butter in large bowl of electric mixer.

Step 4Gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy.

Step 5Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 6Blend in jam.

Step 7Alternately add sifted dry ingredients and buttermilk to the creamed mixture.

Step 8Blend in pineapple, raisins and pecans.

Step 9Pour batter into 13x9x2-inch pan that has been greased and floured.

Step 10Bake at 350 for 55 to 60 minutes or until done.

Step 11Dust with confectioners\' sugar; cut in squares.
