Another family favorite. This is a great cake for birthdays , everyone loves a chocolate cake , and this one is not to heavy on the chocolate with a rich icing that is light on the chocolate too ! Your family will love this...Happy Cooking!!!!!!!!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons hershey cocoa powder
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups cooking oil
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup bulgarian buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons real vanilla
  • 1/2 to 3/4 ounces red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup freshly made warm coffee
  • CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE ICING
  • 2 sticks parkay margarine
  • 16 ounces cream cheese
  • 3/4 teaspoon hershey cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon real vanilla
  • 32 ounces powdered sugar

How To Make kats red velvet mocha cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 . Grease and flour 3 round cake pans.
  • Step 2
    Whisk together : cake flour , salt , baking powder , baking soda and cocoa in medium bowl . Set this aside .
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl mix sugar and cooking oil. Mix eggs into mixture one at a time until blended , stir in buttermilk , vanilla and food coloring until well blended. Now stir in coffee and vinegar.
  • Step 4
    Combine your wet mixture with dry ingredients (mixing a little at a time ) until it is combined.
  • Step 5
    Pour batter in pans evenly ( tap pans to release air bubbles ). Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean .DO NOT OVERCOOK .
  • Step 6
    Cool cakes on racks ,then loosen cakes on side and remove from pans to finish cooling before icing .
  • Step 7
    Make sure cake is COMPLETELY cool before icing.
