My family said I knocked it out of the ball park with this cake. You would never know a box mix was used. It's got to be one of the moistest cakes I've ever sank my teeth into. My family gave it 10 thumbs up! There's no need for a heavy frosting, just a sprinkling of confectioners' sugar will be sufficient! I'll be making this often! I hope you try it sometime, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 - 16 .5 boxes cake mix, devils food
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted crisco shortening
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 1/2 cup kahlua
  • 1 - 12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped dry roasted macadamia nuts
  • KAHLUA CREAM
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 - 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 - 2 tablespoons kahlua

How To Make ~ kahlua sin cake w/ kahlua cream & macadamia's

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 9 - 10 inch bundt pan with bakers joy or grease and lightly flour. In a large bowl, Beat cake mix, sour cream, Kahlua, melted shortening and eggs until well blended.
  • Step 2
Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Evenly spread into prepared pan. Bake for 50 - 55 minutes or until pick comes out clean. It's tricky as you might think the melted chocolate chip on pick is batter.
  • Step 3
Cool for 12 - 15 minutes then flip onto serving platter. Sprinkle with confectioners's sugar.
  • Step 4
Serve with Kahlua whipped cream: Beat all ingredients together until peaks form. Don't over beat.
  • Step 5
Serve aside cake or as I did with some, I sliced 2 thin layers and place a dollop between the layer and another on top. Garnish with more nuts if prefer.
  • Step 6
This cake is awesomely moist and downright delicious!
