Jeweled Brownie Cheesecake

Kim Biegacki

Chocolate brownie & cheesecake lovers: This one has your name written on it. It is one rich & decadent dessert. If you are craving something sweet make sure to save this one. It is also very rich with chocolate flavors. My family really enjoyed it. The original recipe comes from a 24 yr old M & M cookbook. I changed several things. I wanted more cheesecake in the middle so I had to alter the cream cheese. I also added a little sugar and another egg. Oh, & changed the amount of M & M's but overall it's more balanced with chocolate & cheesecake. Do you get me? LOL
I hope you enjoy.

How to Make Jeweled Brownie Cheesecake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9 inch springform pan; set aside. Place butter & chocolate in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute; stir. Microwave again for 30 second and then stir. Make sure chocolate is completed melted.
  2. Add sugar & stir. Make sure mixture is cooled down and then add 3 eggs, one at a time, beating mixture well after each addition; blend in flour & then add your 1 cup of M & M's mini bits and nuts, if using; set aside.
  3. In large bowl beat cream cheese, 2 eggs, sugar and vanilla. Spread half of chocolate mixture in springform pan. Next, spread cream cheese mixture gently & evenly over the chocolate mixture, leaving 1-inch border.
  4. Spread the remaining chocolate mixture evenly over top, all the way to the edges. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup M & M's. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until firm to the touch. Cool completely. Store in refrigerator in tightly covered container, so it doesn't dry out.
