jennie's prune cake
(1 RATING)
Prune cake, ewww! Just hold your potatoes there! Even as children we loved this cake. It's my mother's recipe, so I looked and there are a couple of similar recipes posted, but this one is the quintessential coffee cake. There is no glaze, no frosting, no confectioner's sugar on top. It is perfect and perfectly moist without anything to detract from the pure pleasure of this delightful cake. It is THE most wonderful complement to a good cup of Joe you can imagine!

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a tube pan or two loaf pans. *I prefer the tube.
-
Step 2Mix sugar and eggs, add prunes mix well; add flour, spices, salt, baking soda, oil and milk. Add the nuts last.
