This is great for Thanksgiving dessert and makes a good gift.

The only thing that could make this pumpkin bread better is to pair it with a steaming cup of hot coffee! It's a very easy pumpkin bread recipe that's dense, yet airy and fluffy. We opted to use walnuts for the chopped nuts because we like how walnuts and pumpkin pair together. But, use a nut you prefer - pecans would be great! A delicious treat for fall.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin (15 oz)
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

How To Make janet's pumpkin bread

  • Two greased pans on a preheating oven.
    Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees grease bottom only of two loaf pans.
  • Sugar, eggs, pumpkin, and water combined in a bowl.
    Step 2
    Mix sugar, eggs, pumpkin, and water in a large bowl.
  • Remaining ingredients added to the batter.
    Step 3
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Batter poured into the pans.
    Step 4
    Pour into pans.
  • Toothpick coming out of baked pumpkin bread clean.
    Step 5
    Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean.
  • Janet's Pumpkin Bread removed from the pan and sliced.
    Step 6
    Cool and remove from pans.
