Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 1/4 cups water, hot

Step 1Combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add milk, butter and vanilla. Beat til smooth

Step 2Pour into ungreased square baking pan.

Step 3Combine 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle mixture evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top, DO NOT STIR

Step 4Bake 35-40 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Let stand 15 minutes. Serve
