Easy cake that makes its own chocolate fudge sauce. Served warm, its a perfect winter dessert.

Ingredients

1 c
flour
3/4 c
sugar
6 Tbsp
cocoa powder, divided
2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 c
milk
2 Tbsp
oil
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 3/4 c
hot water

How to Make Hot Fudge Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons of the cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla. Stir till smooth. Spread mixture in an ungreased 9x9 pan.
  • 2Combine brown sugar and remaining cocoa.Sprinkle over the cake batter.
  • 3Pour the hot water over both the batter and sugar/cocoa mixture. DO NOT STIR!
  • 4Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm topped with whipped cream, ice cream, or nothing but a big glass of milk on the side.
