I am so bummed I couldn't find this recipe before Christmas. I happened to be going through some papers and couldn't believe what I was seeing for I thought I had lost the recipe..this is the YUMMIEST cake you will ever eat!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups butter
  • 8 - eggs..yes 8!!
  • 3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 can (20 ounce) pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 jar (10 ounce) maraschino cherries, drained and cut into halves
  • 2 cups pecans or your favorite nut

How To Make holiday pound cake

  • Step 1
    Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. In separate bowl cream butter and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Add flour mixture blend well. Now add nuts, cherries and pineapple.
  • Step 2
    Pour into (2) 9x5 loaf pans, greased, and floured well.. and Or a Bundt or tube pan..bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Let cool in pan for about 10 minutes..invert onto cooling rack.
