I guess you could call this Grandma W's version of a fruitcake? Except there are only cherries inside along with pecans.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 - eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 8 ounces maraschino cherries
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- GLAZE:
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk

Step 1Oven to 325 degrees. Grease tube pan, sprinkle with 1/2 cup pecans. Beat cream cheese, margarine, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and powder, add and mix well. Stir in drained and chopped cherries and pecans. Pour into pan. Bake 1 hour 15 min, toothpick test. Cool 5 min, remove from pan. Drizzle with glaze. Store tightly covered.
