This is my husband's grandmother's recipe. It was handwritten on an index card, and the directions were very brief. I expect she knew pretty well how to make it without a recipe!

How To Make holiday fruitcake

1Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

2Sift flour and baking soda together.

3Combine eggs, mincemeat, condensed milk, and fruit.

4Fold in dry ingredients.

5Pour into prepared pan (the original recipe didn't say what size - perhaps a loaf pan or a tube pan?).

6Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours.
