I call this "Holiday" because it is colorful when sliced. My mom gave me this recipe many years ago.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 - eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour, sifted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 8 ounces jar of red marachino cherries, snipped in pieces
  • 8 ounces jar of green marachino cherries, snipped in pieces
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • GLAZE -
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

How To Make holiday cream cheese cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven: 325 degrees...Grease tube pan; set aside.
  • Step 2
    In large bowl: cream together cream cheese, butter, sugar & vanilla. Add eggs; 1 at a time. Gradually add 2 cups of flour & baking powder.
  • Step 3
    In smaller bowl: add the remaining 1/4 cup flour, red & green cherries, & nuts; mix together till coated with the flour. Add this mixture to the creamed mixture until well combined.
  • Step 4
    Pour in the prepared pan & bake for 1 hour 20 minutes. Cool about 5 minutes & remove from pan.
  • Step 5
    GLAZE - Mix together the confectioners sugar & milk; drizzle over cake.
