heavenly toffee crunch coffee cake

We make Gourmet English Toffee (jellyfromheaven.com) and this a great way for us to use up the crumbs!!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup heavenly creations gourmet english toffee, finely crushed, or use store bought toffee candy bars.
  • 1 cup buttermilk

How To Make heavenly toffee crunch coffee cake

  • Step 1
    Cut butter into flour and sugars until crumbly.
  • Step 2
    Set aside 1/2 cup.
  • Step 3
    To remainder, add buttermilk, soda, egg and vanilla; beat well.
  • Step 4
    Pour 1/3 batter into well greased and floured 9 X 9 pan.
  • Step 5
    Combine reserved mixture and candy and sprinkle over batter.
  • Step 6
    Alternate remaining batter and candy mixture.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
  • Step 8
    To crush candy bars: place in freezer.
  • Step 9
    When thoroughly chilled, place between 2 sheets of foil and roll with rolling pin.
