1In lg bowl, beat butter w/ mixer for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg and cloves.
2Beat in pumpkin, buttermilk, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Stir in flour until well combined. Cover, chill 3 hrs. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface, to 1/2"-thick.
3Cut w/ floured donut cutter or a small glass. Heat oil in lg skillet over high heat. Fry donuts and holes 2 or 3 at a time until golden, turning once. Drain on paper towels. In small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1-1/2 tbsp cinnamon. Roll warm donuts in cinnamon mix.
