Ingredients

  • 7 or so boxes cake mix or recipes of your choice
  • 2 boxes pure white fondant
  • 1 box brown chocolate fondant
  • 2 pounds pure white buttercream frosting
  • 1 pound dark chocolate for melting
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 1 package white chocolate for melting

How To Make half and half wedding cake

  • Step 1
    Bake cakes as needed. Make as many or as few layers as you want. I made three layers of 2 each, so a total of 6 cakes.
  • Step 2
    Crumb coat layers. Add half white fondant and half chocolate fondant to each side. USE SPS or other dowel system for support between all layers.
  • Step 3
    Stack layers with all white one way and all chocolate the other way. Perfection is not necessary.
  • Step 4
    Add side decor to bride side.
  • Step 5
    Drizzle dark chocolate on grooms side.
  • Step 6
    Make "tuxedo" strawberries. Set on cake accordingly.
  • Step 7
    Set pinched and creased fondant down the sides to create drape.
