MIX AND SIFT DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER INCLUDING SPICES...CREAM SHORTENING AND SUGAR...ADD EGGS ONE AT A TIME...BEATING WELL AFTER EACH EGG...ADD VANILLA...MIX IN DRY INGREDIENTS AND APPLE SAUCE...ADD CHOPPED NUTS AND GUM DROPS...POUR INTO GREASED LOAF PANS 9-1/2X5...BAKE IN A 350 OVEN FOR AN HOUR...MAKES TWO LOAFS...ENJOY
