Ingredients
- FOR THE CAKE
- 1 cup Guinness stout
- 10 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- TOPPING
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 8 ounces whipped cream cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
How To Make guinness chocolate cake

Step 1To make the cake, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9-inch springform pan and line it with parchment paper.

Step 2Combine the Guinness and butter in a saucepan. Cook until the butter is melted. Remove from heat. Add the cocoa and sugar. Set aside.

Step 3In another bowl combine the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla. Add the butter mixture. Mix in the flour and baking soda.

Step 4Pour into pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes. Let cool.

Step 5To make the topping mix the confectioners' sugar, cream cheese, and heavy cream. Spread onto the top of the cake and serve.
