This Recipe was handed down through my family for Generations. It is unchanged from the original version. And when I was age 12 or younger It was over One Hundred years old. According to Family It is English as that is where my Great- Great Grandma Susan Williams- Metcalfe was born. She Immigrated From Lancanshire England Sometime around 1888 to Ballston Spa , Saratoga County, New york. They Might of had Irish Ancestry. The texture is not like today's cakes but It still is Good. Frost with your favorite frosting .
