Ingredients

all-purpose flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking powder
2 tsp
baking soda
3/4 c
unsweetened cocoa
2 c
sugar
1 c
oil
1 c
hot coffee
1 c
milk
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract
..frosting..
1 c
powdered sugar
1 c
milk
5 Tbsp
flour
1/2 c
butter, softened
1/2 c
shortening
1 tsp
vanilla extract

Step-By-Step

1preheat oven to 325 degrees; grease and flour the pan.
2Sift together dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
3Add oil, coffee and milk; mix at medium speed for 2 minutes.
4Add eggs and vanilla; mix 2 more minutes (batter will be thin)
5pour into pan and bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes. cool on wire racks.
6meanwhile, for icing, combine the milk and flour in a saucepan; cook until thick. cover and refrigerate.
7in a mixing bowl beat butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla until creamy.
8add chilled milk and flour mixture and beat for 10 minutes.
9frost cooled cake and serve.
