Granny's Coconut Pound Cake

2/3 ccrisco

3 csugar

3 cplain flour

1 cmilk

1 tspcoconut flavoring

2 ccoconut, shredded

1 tspbaking powder
How to Make Granny's Coconut Pound Cake
- Cream butter and Crisco together. Add sugar gradually to Crisco mixture.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Gradually add flour and baking powder, alternating with milk. Add flavoring, mix well. Add coconut and stir well.
- Bake in a tube pan that has been sprayed with a flour and oil mixture (I prefer Bakers Joy). Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
- The cake pictured here is the one I just made; I chose to put a coconut glaze on this which is easily made with 1 pound confectioners sugar, 1 t. coconut flavoring and a little milk to get it to the consistency you desire.
