I love this cake in fall but it's good at any time of the year. It's a dense cake but it's very moist. The tartness of the apples, all the spices, and the slight hint of the citrus from the orange complement each other nicely. It has a slightly crisp outside and the inside is moist and full of apples and pecans.
I know there is a lot of disagreement about the 2 cups of oil in this recipe. It has always worked for me and makes a delicious cake. On my blog, I did make this cake with less oil. bakedbroiledandbasted.com/granny-smi...

We swear that the autumn leaves began to fall just as we pulled this delicious cake from the oven. This is a dense and moist Bundt cake with apples in every bite. It seems like there is too much oil, but the amount works perfectly in the recipe. We love the slight citrus flavor with the apples and fall spices.
