Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 4 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
How To Make grandmom elaine's buttermilk pound cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 325.

Step 2In a large bowl, combine sugar, shortening & butter. Beat until light & fluffy.

Step 3Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.

Step 4Add in remainder of ingredients. Mix well.

Step 5Bake in a tube pan for 1 hour 15 mins.
