This Was My Grandma's Recipe From When I Was a Little Girl,Easy To Make,My Mom Made This Bread For Us.
Now My Daughter Jo Ann Webb Makes It For Her Kids And Grand Kids.Very Good Gingerbread.

Ingredients

or 1 stick of soft butter
1/2 c
sugar
1 c
molasses
1
egg
2 1/4 c
flour -all-purpose
1/2 tsp
salt
2 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda
2 tsp
ginger
2 tsp
cinnoman
1/2 tsp
ground cloves
1 c
boiling water
1 tsp
grated orange zest
1/2 c
chopped nuts

How to Make Grandma's Gingerbread

Step-by-Step

  • 1preheat oven to (350*) in a medium bowl. beat butter in with sugar and molasses.
  • 2mix in egg.
  • 3sift all dry ingredients.
  • 4add; to the mixture alternately with water.
    just until combined.
  • 5bake in greased 9 inch square pan.
    bake 40 minutes.
