My grandmother used to make this all the time when I was a child and we all loved it.

Ingredients

2 stick
butter
2 c
sugar
4
eggs
3 c
all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
1 c
cultured buttermilk
1 tsp
vanilla

Step-By-Step

1Cream the butter and sugar well. Add slightly beaten eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
2Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Add vanilla.
3Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 70 minutes.
4Loosen gently and remove from pan immediately. Cool on cake rack.
