My Grandmother and Great Grandmother made this for years for family functions. It was always apple cake until my Grandmother moved into a house that had pear trees. It's fantastic with pears also.

Ingredients

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 1/4 c
    oil
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 3 c
    chopped apples or pears
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make Grandma's Apple or Pear Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and oil. Beat eggs and add sugar. Mix with flour mixture. Add pecans, fruit and vanilla. Bake in a bundt or tube pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
