This is my dad’s mom’s recipe and we have been enjoying it for years. She always made it when we came to visit her in Nashville, TN. Hope your family loves it too!

Ingredients

  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 6 large
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 c
    sifted cake flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda

How to Make Grandma Pond's Pound Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl.
  2. Add eggs and mix well.
  3. Mix in sour cream and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Add in sifted cake flour and baking soda. Don't over mix or the cake will be heavy.
  5. Bake 1 hr. 15 min on 350 degrees and then lower temperature to 325 until done. Test with cake tester - don't overcook.
    Melts in your mouth!
