grandma gene's blueberry pineapple cake

My Grandmother made this cake for my Mother and her 4 brothers when they were growing up. This was passed down to my mother, who slightly tweaked the recipe for convenience sake. And now, 3rd Generation, I dare not touch this recipe. I fallow it to the T. I Remember begging my mom to make this for me growing up. I actually think its the Reason I love the combination of Blueberries & Pineapple so much now as an Adult. This Cake is so easy and Every bit as delicious as something you would get out of a French Patisserie. I share this with you all, in hopes you Love it as much as I did/Do (:

Ingredients

  • 1 can 20 oz can crushed or diced pineapple
  • 1 can 21 oz blueberry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • - nonstick cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

How To Make grandma gene's blueberry pineapple cake

  • Step 1
    Spray a 13-inch by 9-inch by 2-inch baking dish with cooking oil.
  • Step 2
    Layer the first 5 ingredients in the baking pan in the order given. (Make sure there is an even layer of Pineapple, then Dollop Blueberry pie filling to make an even layer. Spread if you need to, then Sprinkle on Cake mix evenly, then evenly drizzle the melted butter over top) Do not mix together, Must be layered.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 for approximately 40 minutes. (28 in my oven)
