When I was employed, this was my "go-to" recipe when I had an office pot-luck. I've even made it for bake sales. Everyone loves it.

Ingredients
- 1 - yellow cake mix, any brand
- 1 stick butter or margarine, softened
- 3 - eggs (divided)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 pound powdered sugar
How To Make gooey butter cake

Step 1FIRST LAYER: Mix 1 beaten egg, cake mix and butter together and crumble in bottom of a 9 X 13-inch greased pan. Do not bake.

Step 2SECOND LAYER: Mix 2 beaten eggs and cream cheese together. Slowly add powdered sugar until mixed in. Carefully spread over first layer.

Step 3Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.
