Very rich dense cake. Not really "gooey" like a traditional gooey butter cake. Even those that don't like gooey butter cake tend to like this cake.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- pinch salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons almonds, slivered (for topping)
- 2 teaspoons sugar (for topping)
How To Make gooey almond cake

Step 1In large bowl combine sugar and butter,stir until blended. Add eggs, stirring after each addition.

Step 2Stir in almond extract, vanilla, and salt. Stir in flour.

Step 3Pour batter into greases 9 inch round cake pan. Sprinkle top of batter with slivered almonds and 2 tsp. sugar.

Step 4Bake in 350 oven for 35-40 minutes. Cool slightly in pan.
