This recipe comes from a 1968 recipe book titled,"Favorite Recipes From Church of GOD Ladies". Each of the recipes has the ladies' name and home town and I will include this with the recipe and if you know or are related to this person, I would really like to know. The recipes I post from this cookbook are ones I have tried and really like or are unusual due to ingredients or possibly due to the number of recipes with the same name but are different in some way. I hope you enjoy. I know some the recipes are really lacking in some or all areas, but I am posting them as they are in the cookbook

Ingredients
- CAKE:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 cups flour
- 4 - eggs, beaten
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 cup raisins or dates
- 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 2 cups cooked pumpkin or 1 no. 2 can pumpkin
- 1/2 cup coconut
- GLAZE:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
How To Make glazed pumpkin cake

Step 1CAKE: Combine sugar and oil.

Step 2Sift spices, baking powder, salt, baking soda and **2 c. of flour together.

Step 3Alternate, adding flour mixture and eggs to sugar mixture.

Step 4Mix nuts and raisins with remaining **1 c. flour.

Step 5Add nut mixture and remaining ingredients to sugar mixture; blend well.

Step 6Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Step 7Cool for 20 minutes.

Step 8GLAZE: Combine all ingredients.

Step 9Bring to a boil; cook to sof ball stage.
