Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- FOR CUPCAKES:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup milk (2%)
- 1/2 cup pecans (finely chopped)
- FROSTING:
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 1 package cream cheese (3 oz.) - softened
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 18 - pecan halves
How To Make gingered maple cupcakes

Step 1Cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs. Beat in the syrup, and the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, ginger, salt, and baking soda; and add to the creamed mixture, alternately with the milk, beating well after each addition. Stir in the pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool.

Step 2FROSTING: Meanwhile cream the butter, cream cheese, brown sugar and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in the syrup and the vanilla. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until smooth. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Frost the cooled cupcakes, and top each with a pecan half.
