Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 - large eggs
  • TOPPING INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter

How To Make ginger cake

  • Step 1
    Grease and flour bundt pan.
  • Step 2
    Combine all ingredients for cake.
  • Step 3
    Blend and beat for 3 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Bake 55 minutes at 350. Remove from oven.
  • Step 5
    Prick deeply with fork every inch.
  • Step 6
    Mix and heat topping. Spoon over hot cake.
  • Step 7
    Cool upright in pan for 30 minutes; turn onto serving plate.
  • Step 8
    Serve warm or cool with whipped cream.
